SCS Software has announced a North Dakota expansion for American Truck Simulator, bringing new routes, roadside landmarks, and cargo hauls to the growing map.
SCS Software is keeping the cross country momentum going for American Truck Simulator, officially announcing that North Dakota is the next state slated for the map. Following recent additions like Illinois, the development team is slowly pushing further east while continuing to build out the massive open road network that simulator fans rely on for long haul relaxation and community hanging out on Discord or voice chats.
The upcoming downloadable content will let players haul cargo through major hubs like Fargo, Bismarck, and Grand Forks while navigating the expansive rolling prairies and agricultural routes that define the region. What will really set this slice of the map apart from other big sky states are the regional roadside landmarks. Players can expect to spot massive art installations along the Enchanted Highway, the towering World's Largest Buffalo in Jamestown, and the striking Four Bears Bridge, offering plenty of visual variety for long distance hauls.
While SCS Software has not dropped a release date yet, North Dakota joins a busy production pipeline that includes South Dakota, Indiana, and British Columbia. For players who treat these virtual highways as a primary space to unwind, chat with friends, or throw on a favorite stream in the background, this steady stream of map expansions keeps the journey fresh. You can already add the North Dakota expansion to your Steam wishlist. Read the original reporting over at Rock Paper Shotgun.
