Alien: Isolation 2 Breaks Out of Spaceships and Heads Planetside

Creative Assembly and Sega debuted the first proper trailer for Alien: Isolation 2 at Summer Game Fest 2026, revealing a new planetside setting at Kurosaki Station.

Survival horror fans finally have a reason to celebrate. Creative Assembly and Sega pulled back the curtain at Summer Game Fest 2026 to reveal the first proper trailer for Alien: Isolation 2, confirming a massive shift in scenery for the franchise. While the original 2014 masterpiece trapped players in the claustrophobic corridors of Sevastopol Station, this upcoming sequel takes the terror outdoors to a stormy colony world known as Kurosaki Station.

Speaking with Geoff Keighley during the showcase, creative director Al Hope explained that the team wanted to expand the scope while keeping the core survival mechanics intact. The newly released footage showcases windy trees, dense fog, and a battered colonial setting that looks ripe for exploration and hiding. Players will once again step into the shoes of an underpowered protagonist armed with little more than flares, wits, and a desperate need to stay quiet. The iconic xenomorph is swapping metal corridors for open air, and the results promise to test even the most hardened stealth veterans.

Moving the action to a planetside colony opens up plenty of fresh storytelling potential and environmental hazards. Exploring trashed facilities and storm-ravaged landscapes should provide plenty of lore for players who love digging into the details between heart-pounding chase sequences. As reported by Rock Paper Shotgun, the game is currently slated for modern platforms, and we can expect plenty of streamer-friendly moments when horror creators test their nerves against the ultimate apex predator once again.
