Aiden Thomas is back with the release of Cemetery Boys: Espíritu, featuring an exclusive preview and narration by Critical Role newcomer Vico Ortiz.
New York Times bestselling author Aiden Thomas is expanding the beloved urban fantasy universe with Cemetery Boys: Espíritu, available now through Macmillan. Following the breakout success of the 2020 original, this highly anticipated sequel picks up shortly after the events of the first book to track Julian as he navigates a mysterious new challenge involving dark spots only he and a nonbinary brujx named Angel can see.
To celebrate the launch, Polygon shared an exclusive look at the sequel, featuring a special audio excerpt narrated by Puerto Rican actor, drag king, and Critical Role newcomer Vico Ortiz. The preview drops readers right back into the vibrant, messy, and deeply emotional lives of Yadriel and Julian as their East LA community prepares for the upcoming Midnight Vigil and the Candle Dance of Eternal Light.
Fans diving into the new release can expect the same sharp humor, heartfelt romance, and supernatural community dynamics that made the first novel a standout hit. Whether reading the text or listening to Ortiz bring the characters to life through audio, the sequel delivers a fresh chapter in an urban fantasy world that continues to resonate deeply with modern readers.
