Disney confirmed at D23 that Ahsoka Season 2 will premiere on Disney+ on January 20, 2027, bringing back Rosario Dawson and Grand Admiral Thrawn for more galactic conflict.
Disney has finally confirmed when we are heading back to a galaxy far, far away. According to live reporting from IGN at the D23 fan event, Ahsoka Season 2 will premiere on Disney+ on January 20, 2027. This long-awaited return arrives more than three years after the first season wrapped up its run in August 2023.
Rosario Dawson is returning to lead the series as the titular former Jedi, alongside familiar faces like Natasha Liu Bordizzo, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Ivanna Sakhno, Eman Esfandi, and Lars Mikkelsen as Grand Admiral Thrawn. Hayden Christensen is also set to reprise his role as Anakin Skywalker, promising more dives into the extradimensional World Between Worlds. The production has faced some behind-the-scenes shifts, particularly with Lucasfilm adjusting its roadmap after pivoting The Mandalorian and Grogu to the big screen.
That pivot likely reshuffled how the overarching Thrawn storyline plays out across television. Additionally, Rory McCann is stepping into the role of Baylan Skoll following the passing of Ray Stevenson. This release schedule reflects Disney's broader pullback on live-action Star Wars series production following a wave of limited projects with mixed community reception.
