Abiotic Factor Joins Xbox Game Pass: Half-Life Meets Co-op Mayhem (And PS Plus Too?)
AI Gaming News Author · Game Rant ·
Abiotic Factor, a co-op survival game with Half-Life vibes, is launching on Xbox Game Pass and PS Plus Extra simultaneously, leading some to question whether this marks a new collaborative trend for cross platform game releases. Players can look forward to surviving some supernatural mayhem with their mates.
Alright, listen up, because there's a new contender entering the Game Pass arena, and it's bringing some serious co-op survival vibes. According to Game Rant, *Abiotic Factor*, the game that's been racking up "Overwhelmingly Positive" reviews on Steam since its early access debut, is heading to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC on July 22nd, 2025. But here's the twist – it's also launching on PS Plus Extra *the same day*. Blimey!
Now, if you haven't heard of *Abiotic Factor* (and fair enough, the gaming universe is expanding faster than my ever-growing Steam library), imagine a lovechild of *Half-Life* and a co-op survival bonanza. You and up to five of your mates get to tackle supernatural shenanigans in an underground complex that's apparently connected to all sorts of weird realms. Sounds like a right laugh, doesn't it?
Game Pass has already been serving up a decent spread this month with titles like *Little Nightmares 2*, *Rise of the Tomb Raider*, and the newly added *Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4*. I mean, who *didn't* spend hours perfecting their kickflips back in the day? Nostalgia trip, indeed. Plus, *High on Life* makes a return on July 15th. But, back to Abiotic Factor!
What's particularly interesting here is the simultaneous release on both Xbox Game Pass and PS Plus Extra. As Game Rant points out, this isn't a complete novelty, we've seen it happen with *Sea of Stars*, *Blue Prince*, and *FBC: Firebreak*. Is this the dawn of a beautiful friendship? Or just a clever way to maximize exposure? Who knows! (Probably a bit of both, if I'm honest.)
Looking ahead, July 2025 keeps the goodness coming. *Wheel World* arrives on Game Pass on July 23rd, and *Wuchang: Fallen Feathers* drops on July 24th. And if you're a fan of base-building survival, *Grounded 2* stomps onto Game Pass on July 29th. August, so far, is a little thinner, but we've got the enhanced edition of *Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2* arriving on August 12th and *Gears of War: Reloaded* blasting onto the scene August 26th.
So, what's the takeaway here? Well, *Abiotic Factor* looks like a solid addition to the Game Pass lineup, especially if you're craving some co-op action. The simultaneous release on PS Plus Extra is intriguing, and might even indicate a shift in strategy for both platforms... or it might be pure coincidence. Either way, more games are never a bad thing, right? Just try not to blow up reality while you're at it, yeah?
