Aardman Animations has officially dropped the trailer for Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom, and the farm is taking a sharp turn into monster movie territory. According to IGN South Africa, the upcoming animated feature is scheduled to hit theaters in the US and the UK on September 18, 2026. This time around, the peaceful routines of Mossy Bottom Farm are upended when the Farmer accidentally destroys the flock's prize Halloween pumpkin patch, prompting Shaun to channel his inner mad scientist to fix the mess.
Naturally, things go off the rails immediately. The Farmer goes missing, a mysterious beast starts stalking the woods of Mossingham, and the flock finds itself in the middle of a chaotic rescue mission. Franchise veterans Steve Cox and Matthew Walker are stepping up to direct their first feature film, working from a script penned by Mark Burton and Giles Pilbrow. Fans can also expect the return of familiar voice talent, with Justin Fletcher, John Sparkes, and Kate Harbour reprising their iconic roles.
While Aardman is best known for cinematic milestones like Wallace and Gromit, the studio has consistently found ways to translate its signature stop-motion charm into modern entertainment spaces. For players and creators who appreciate stellar animation, meticulous craft, and cross-generational storytelling, this autumn release is shaping up to be an easy ticket purchase.
